Gladys Perez, is a visual artist with multidisciplinary practices and multicultural perspective. A master Ebru artist, she studied the ancient Chinese paper marbling technique for more than 25 years. She learned to paint Sumi-e and patchwork in Kumamoto, Japan.
For years, she’s been focused on work with recycling materials and “leftovers “as leather, textile etc., to design one-of-a-kind accessories and home décor. Throughout this time, Perez has been teaching art to special needs population, such as United Cerebral Palsy. She is also taught incarcerated women at SoHarlem for many before becoming a Creative Entrepreneur.
Perez work has been exhibited at United Nations, Columbia University, Queens Borough Hall, Manhattan Borough Hall, Consulate of Argentina NY and Consulate of Peru in NYC. She had a solo exhibition at the Art Expo and was part of a group exhibition at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, and diverse galleries throughout New York City.
Perez attended that University of Buenos Aires in Argentina, receiving an MA Classical Philosophy and Institute CEN 98 Buenos Aires, where she studied social development. In New York, Perez studied at the Arts Student League and received a certificate in Design and Millenary at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).
